In light of the new wedding legislation I am happy to announce that Magick Weddings will be re-opening and begin taking bookings for late-summer and fall 2015 weddings.

I am so proud of our Supreme Court and the decision to allow all people marry is something I would love to share in. At Magick Weddings we do not discriminate and love to share in the joy of weddings with all types of couples. Contact us today to talk about what we can do for you!

Like all good things, it is time for Magick Weddings to come to an end. What started out as a small hobby business in 2005 has blossomed into something I can no longer manage or control. My outside commitments have slowly taken over the time that I would spend doing weddings for all of the great people found on this blog, and hopefully someday I’ll be able to come back to that. Thanks everyone for 8 great years!

Congratulations to the Lists’ and Welcome Rev. Aaron!

Magick Weddings would like to introduce you to our new minster, Rev. Aaron!

We sometimes hear from our prospective clients that they wished for a male minister because they felt more comfortable have a male clergyman. We totally understand and we wanted to remedy that lack!

Rev. Aaron is a new minister but has been a quick learner in the ways of weddings as he worked with us this summer and will be performing many ceremonies for us in the future. He is an excellent minister for your wedding!

Rev. Aaron made his Magick Weddings debut ceremony earlier this month at a fantastic ceremony in West Plains, MO for the Lists!

Congrats guys! Hope you enjoyed Jamaica! And a big WELCOME to Rev. Aaron!

If you would like to book Rev. Aaron please contact us!

April Pictures

So thanks to my iPhone breaking I have many un-returned calls and zero pictures from any weddings in April. Bummer. Pics will be back in May!

Maybe you don’t want to get married in a church or by a pastor. Thanks to a couple of local companies, you don’t have to.

Holy Cow!

So I have been really remiss in getting my fall wedding pictures up so in return I have something to share with you…

I see a lot of weddings. Not only the ones that I help plan and perform, but I often end up at other weddings helping friends in the industry so again, I see a LOT of weddings. I’ve seen brides do some really cool things that made their wedding eventful, memorable and unique the them but this…this takes some BIG wedding cake.

Check out this video

Her name is Sam and she is a Catholic music director and goodness…I got the chills watching that video. I think that moment, the look on the faces of her guests, is exactly what ever bride hopes her ceremony will be.

Check out more of Sam’s crazy-awesome wedding at:

The non-ceremony wedding

There seems to be a trend cropping up in weddings this year that I am calling the non-ceremony wedding. This isn’t about eloping or just “deciding” to get married and finding the closest place to do it, but I believe it is more about saving money on a wedding by not having the big elaborate ceremony. These are not people that haven’t put a lot of thought into their ceremony, or people that are trying to run away and get married. They simply can’t or won’t pay for a large elaborate affair but still want something awesome. I have been seeing a lot of these couples this year.

There are a lot of great places around Springfield where you can have a low-cost wedding and not end up doing it at the court house (which I have it on good authority that Springfield Justices of the Peace will not marry people anymore). I have no problem meeting you out about town so that you can have a cheap-n-easy wedding and spend your money on more important things, like cake. 🙂 I usually charge $50 for this service and I have done weddings at parks, caves, Bass Pro, Sushi restaurants, your house or my home office.

One of these great places around town is now right in my back yard. For a lovely place to have your wedding right in the middle of the city:

The use of the Courtyard Garden is free to couples that are just wanting a quick ceremony with a few witnesses. If you would like to use the Garden for your wedding we can seat 20 guests for a lovely wedding by the Koi Pond. Please send an email to to discuss the details.

Contact me if you would like more information or to come see the Garden for yourself.

Very busy = no updates

I know I have been very bad at updating my blog this summer but I have been SO BUSY! Not that I am complaining! I am also working on something really new and cool for Magick Weddings, so stay posted and I’ll give you some good stuff soon.

So, since I don’t have anything right now here is a neat article by Mint: Cutting Wedding Cake Costs (Without Sacrificing Quality)
